3M 4941F is a gray acrylic foam bonding tape with a film release liner. It is used in industrial assembly where a conformable bond line is needed.
Construction and application fit
The manufacturer specifies a typical tape thickness of 1.1 mm and a multipurpose acrylic adhesive. Panel-to-frame and stiffener-to-panel joints are examples to evaluate. The F suffix and liner format should remain part of the purchasing specification.
Selection and validation
Compare the substrate finish, expected joint movement and available bond area. Metal and painted surfaces need different preparation decisions, while plastic compatibility depends on the exact grade. Validate the joint under its service load and environmental exposure before production.
